Someone hanging from a window of the twin towers (9-11)
It is often hard to imagine what hell would be like. It is hard even to imagine myself. But of all the ways you could die. It would seem that burning to death would be the worst because of the pain. The picture above is of someone who was hanging out a window trying to get relief from the hot buring fire inside. Waiting for help to arrive. There was no one that could help them. The fire truck ladders could not reach them. And helicopters from news agencies could not get close enough for fear of blades hitting the building.
Having to make a choice on whether to die burning, or jumping. Most everyone of them jumped to certain death. It was horrible to watch and know there was nothing no one could do. I use this example so it can be better understood that hell is not where anyone wants to go. It is like a fire that never burns out, and you cannot jump out a window to escape it. If you go there, it is for a eternity. God's word says that hell is ten times hotter than normal fire. Which also means ten times more pain.
In hell you do not die, you can only wish that you could. But unlike the people in that picture, there will be no choice. No second chance. And no hope. And anyone one of those people who did not know Christ, went from one horrible experience, to one that is even worse. And one day, you or me could be in a situation just like that. No choice to live, only the choice on how you or me would die.
Everyone one day will die. It is a sure process of life. And the tomb stone will say: born****----------- Die****. And what we all will be judged on is that dash between the two dates. What did we do with our dash? And where will we go because of it? The choice is ours, and no one can make it for us. So what will we do with what's left of our dash that will ensure we won't have to face eternal torment with no choice, and no way out?
